Workshops on How to Craft and Tell Your Own Stories

Suzanne’s Workshops

  • What’s Your Story for Adults

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to tell a story from your life, this workshop is for you. It is designed to teach adults how to reach into their past, identify what is important, then learn the most effective way to craft and present their stories. The length of the workshop can be geared for your group.

  • Children Telling Stories

Children grades 2-12 have fun learning storytelling tools such as voice inflection, dramatization, body language and using their imagination. They learn how to use a story map to help learn a fairy tale or folk tale of choice. Older, or more advanced tellers can tell a story from their life instead. For example, two sisters told a tandem tale called, “Operation Cookie Jar”. Another student wrote a story called, “Coming to America.” This workshop builds performance confidence and language skills. It works best if taught over three or four, one-hour classes.

  • Bringing Her Story and History Alive Through the Art of Storytelling

History can be exciting when told through a great story. Techniques can be learned just like any type of storytelling. I personally love telling historical stories in costume and first person, but I also appreciate stories told in third person. This workshop covers it all and is enjoyed by both men and women. This workshop can be taught digitally or in-person.
